The Histamine Hop: Navigating the low-histamine Life

Hello my histamine heros!

Ever felt like attempting to be low-histamine felt more like a circus performance than anything else? Today, we're going to turn that circus into a joyous, vibrant dance I've coined "The Histamine Hop"!

The first rule of the histamine hop: know your pattern and your pace! I remember the first time I was diagnosed with histamine intolerance, I was overwhelmed, to say the least. I mean, who knew our bodies had this histamine disco happening inside all along?! But once I slowed down, started listening to my body and its unique rhythm, things got easier.

Now, on to the dance steps – involve the holy trio of your life: your sleep, food, and mood.

  1. Sleep: Did you know that your histamine tolerance can change based on how well you slept? Crazy, right? I remember this one night when I stayed up watching "Game of Thrones" (hey, don't judge!). Next day, I sneezed at practically everything. Never again!

  2. Food: Selecting low-histamine foods is essential. These include our dear friends: freshly cooked meat and non-citrus fruits. A piece of advice from your pal Matilda – avoid aged cheese like your ex. And remember, the fresher your food, the lesser your histamine hoping!

  3. Mood: Stress management plays a major role in histamine hop. In this dance, anxiety and temper tantrums are better left off the dance floor (I'm still working on this one guys, let's be honest). Deep breaths, yoga poses, and cat videos are your go-to moves!

The Histamine Hop isn't an easy jig, my friends. But then again, nobody learned to waltz in a day! As they say "Practice makes perfect", and who knows – maybe someday there’ll be a histamine hop dance-off and we’ll be ready to shake our tail feathers!

Stay brave, keep dancing, and remember: we are rocking this together. Histamine intolerance may have brought us together, but our shared resilience, humor, and a love for fresh food really makes this journey worthwhile.

Enjoy your low histamine day, Your Matilda
