I created this recipe during one hot summer when I was searching for a delightful, refreshing alternative to my usual beverages. Given my histamine intolerance, I couldn't have my usual fruit juices or teas. That's when I gave this blend a try and instantly fell in love. The beautiful blend of flavors and the refreshing tanginess have made this my go-to summer drink ever since.

Instructions

  • 0Bring the water to a boil in a large pot.
  • 1Once boiling, remove from heat and add the green tea bags and basil leaves. Allow to steep for 5-10 minutes.
  • 2While the tea is steeping, use a blender to puree the blueberries and strain them to remove the pulp.
  • 3After steeping, remove the tea bags and basil leaves, add the honey and stir until it dissolves.
  • 4Combine the brewed tea with the blueberry juice in a large pitcher. Allow it to cool.
  • 5Serve the tea over ice.
